Clay Travis offers Las Vegas Aces $10 million to face a boys’ high school team as WNBA transgender debate continues.

OutKick founder Clay Travis on  Monday posted on X that he is raising his offer to $10 million, daring the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces into a single head-to-head game against a boys’ high school state championship team of his own picking.

According to him, should the Aces come out on top, Travis said he’d hand the players $10 million — a payout he’s calling the biggest ever put up to win one basketball game.

He fired off the challenge just a day after the Indiana Fever squared off against the Minnesota Lynx — a matchup that pulled fresh attention back to remarks from Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, who had spoken out against transgender women competing in women’s sports.

In a follow-up post, Travis framed the proposed showdown as “a modern day battle of the sexes.”

Travis spelled out the terms across a string of posts. The Aces, as reigning champs, would take on a boys’ high school team of Travis’s own choosing — winner takes the $10 million, no matter which side comes out on top.

If the boys pulled it off, Travis said, the money wouldn’t go to him or anyone else — it’d go straight to the players, who’d be free to split it up among themselves however they saw fit.

He also wants the whole thing airing on pay-per-view, with every dollar of profit funneled to Tunnel to Towers — the nonprofit that hands mortgage-free homes to the families soldiers, police officers and first responders left behind.

The proposal increases an earlier $1million offer Travis made in 2023 for a similar contest.

In an ESPN profile published July 21, Cunningham addressed the backlash head-on, saying she’d been accused of “hating trans” people — a claim she pushed back on directly, insisting she never said any such thing.

What she did maintain was her stance on keeping biological men out of girls’ and women’s locker rooms and sports, a position she stood by the next day when Indianapolis reporters pressed her on it, calling it simply “common sense.”

Fever coach Stephanie White got pulled into the conversation too, fielding questions ahead of a July 31 game in Portland.

Her answer landed somewhere in the middle — she said she didn’t think exclusion was the right call, but she also admitted she didn’t feel scientifically informed enough to stake out a firm position on transgender athletes one way or the other.

Fever coach Stephanie White is asked her stance on males playing in women's sports.

"I wouldn't really say that I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don't ever believe that exclusion is the answer."

Caitlin Clark faced her own version of the question in Minneapolis, where reporters asked whether she felt any obligation, given her standing as the face of the league, to weigh in on her teammate’s remarks.

Clark deflected the responsibility angle, saying that is a matter for leagues and governing bodies to sort out — her team, she said, was staying focused on winning games.

The Fever and Lynx met at Target Center in Minneapolis on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve made her own statement before the game even started, showing up in a T-shirt that read “Trans Kids Belong.”

Outside the arena, roughly two dozen people gathered ahead of tipoff — a split crowd of Cunningham supporters and transgender-rights advocates, signs in hand and chants going, among them former ESPN commentator turned Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michele Tafoya.

Inside, the reception was rougher for Cunningham — fans booed her every time she checked into the game or so much as touched the ball.

At some point during the game, Reeve and Cunningham actually spoke, right there on the court.

Asked about it afterward, Reeve said they both understood the platforms they had, and used that moment to try to educate each other — she added it was good to have the conversation in person.

The Lynx came out on top, 108-100.

As of Monday, neither the Las Vegas Aces nor the WNBA had publicly responded to Travis’s challenge.
