Alexis Wilkins put it in four words: “Went and got the law involved.”
That was the caption on the black-and-white photo she posted Sunday evening on X. Her left hand is forward, ring visible. Next to her is FBI Director Kash Patel.

Patel reposted the image with two emojis — a red heart and an engagement ring. It was the public confirmation of a relationship that predates Patel’s time running the bureau.

The two love birds have been together since at least 2023.
Wilkins has never missed being close to Patel, as she was there for his swearing-in when he took over as head of the FBI last year.
The lovebirds had met at a friend’s house, according to the singers account on The Megyn Kelly Show last year.
What stood out to her was how direct he was.
“I just liked that he was so, so honest. He is exactly who he is all the time,” she said. “His character is incredible; his values are incredible. You know, we both are very patriotic so obviously there are things there that we definitely agree on.”

Wilkins had her breakthrough with her debut EP, Grit, in 2023. The singer presents her music as work that “honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.” She spent parts of her childhood in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Arkansas.
In the last year her name has appeared on more than just music bills. Her LinkedIn lists her as a board committee member for the National Rifle Association since June 2025 and a consultant for The American Border Story since May.
Drama has been part of that fame. She performed at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of America 250, a show where several other artists dropped out after saying they learned it was not billed as non-partisan.
She was not having it. She has also pushed back on online conspiracy theories claiming she is tied to Mossad.
The couple’s joint appearances have brought separate scrutiny for Patel, who is now facing criticism for travel on government aircraft with no known or apparent law enforcement purpose.
One of those trips was an FBI jet to State College, Pennsylvania, for a pro wrestling event in October 2025 where Wilkins sang the national anthem.
The scrutiny ignited when Wilkins posted a photo that showed them smiling in the crowd. Another showed her holding up an oversized gold championship belt.
“Attacking her isn’t just wrong — it’s cowardly and jeopardizes our safety,” Patel said defending her publicly. In November he posted on X:
“The disgustingly baseless attacks against Alexis – a true patriot and the woman I’m proud to call my partner in life – are beyond pathetic,” he wrote. “She is a rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation who has done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes,” Patel added.
